Description
Pistes-Solidaires is an association funded in 2002. Its actions are set to develop an active European citizenship, through social and professional inclusion, the development of knowledge and skills to be a part of the life in city. We intervene at different levels: regional, European and international.
Acknowledged as an association of general interest, accredited as a youth and non-formal education association, sending/hosting and coordinating organization, Pistes-Solidaires is a major actor in the educational mobility in France.
The volunteer will participate in the activities of Pistes-Solidaires, in particular the one related to the promotion of the different European cultures towards its different audiences. Indeed, she/he will join the staff in its animation interventions in the primary school of Billère, town in the suburbs of Pau. Pistes-Solidaires goes there once a week to present the different European cultures to children, through non-formal education tools developed by the association’s workers. The volunteer will also join our activities within retirement homes where we do cooking and gardening workshops. Another activity would be the animation of a table in our monthly language learning activities (in a café). This will be an opportunity to discuss in her/his native language to promote her/his culture and language with a very diverse audience.
Pistes-Solidaires is looking for dynamic, motivated, curious, open-minded volunteers and ready to intervene among any type of audience.

The cost indicated is including: pre-departure preparation in your country, accommodation in a individual room (all included), insurance, organisation of the hosting placement and local support. Board, International travel costs and local transports are not included and the volunteer is directly responsible for them.
