Description

The aim of this organisation is to promote social inclusion thanks to environmental activities. For example, they develop the most important community garden in Pau. In parallel, they implement environmental educational activities. They have a very wide public.

Activity description:

The volunteers will take part to the activities of the shared gardens and contribute to the maintenance and development of the gardens. It will include work in the field during the public sessions and with the staff of the association. They will be supervised by a team of volunteers and will work on the production and preparation of the next productions of fruits, vegetables or even sometimes cider and honey. The type of work done by the volunteers will depend on the season and the weather, the climate in Pau being able to change quickly, with frequent rainings. The volunteer will interact with the large public using regularly the gardens, from different social origins.

Logistic conditions:

The volunteer will be hosted, during his/her stay, in a private housing through the Airbnb platform. The association office will be accessible by feet and bus. The kitchen of the flat can be used by the volunteer freely. She/he will have access to the downtown shops and stores. The infrastructures also allow to go to the suburbs supermarkets and malls, easily accessible. The town is also served by an important bus network and a free shuttle allowing to move within the centre of the city.

Economic Conditions:

850 €
The cost indicated is including: pre-departure preparation in your country, accommodation in a individual room (all included), insurance, organisation of the hosting placement and local support. Board, International travel costs and local transports are not included and the volunteer is directly responsible for them.
