Gulbenes 3. pirmsskolas izglītībs iestāde (3rd Gulbene pre-school educational institution (kindergarten)) is the newest and also the biggest in the town. There are about 240 children attending the kindergarten. Children are divided in 13 groups. 5 groups realize obligatory pre-school program (for 5 - 7 years old), including one speech therapy group, 8 groups are for children aged from 1,5-5 years. The Pre-school offers also folk dance group, English language classes, Hot Sand Box, Esthetics of Natural Environments Studio. Kindergarten twice hosted EVS long term youngster volunteers, twice has involved in activities senior volunteers (projects “Senior Pass” and “Senior Plus”) .
Possible volunteer’s activities in the 3rd Gulbene pre-school educational institution:
* assistance for children - helping them to learn to deal with daily routines and household;
* assistance for teachers in daily activities: dressing children, doing practical works, going for a walks;
* games, plays together with 5-6 years old children that could help them to acquire English language;
* any creative workshops together with children (sports, music, art, environmental statement);
* introduction with volunteer’s country, culture and language.
Volunteer is free to choose the age group he/she prefers to work with or can change the groups – some days work in one, some – in other.
Kindergarten is open on workdays from 7 a.m. till 7 p.m. Volunteer’s working time could be from 9 a.m. till 5 p.m. or different – as prefered.
Kindergarten prefers volunteer with at least minimal experience in communication with children. The most important is volunteer’s interest and motivation for work with children.
