Community Action Dacorum is a charity that provides support to the local community. We support voluntary organisations, charities and community groups at the early stages of their development, providing funding advice, representation and a payroll service to help them grow and flourish. We also deliver services and projects that support local individuals, businesses and community groups.
Volunteers can take on a wide variety of roles at CAD. They include supporting:
• the community transport service by answering the phones or accompanying the elderly on visits to the supermarket
• the interpreting and translation service by answering phones and maintaining the database
• the creative learning team in planning, running and evaluating adult education courses
• the ‘Shop Mobility’ service, loaning electric wheelchairs for use when shopping
This would suit an individual who is flexible, organised and a self-starter. A good level of English (C1 or better) and experience in Microsoft Office and/or other software programmes is important.

The cost indicated is including: pre-departure preparation in your country, accommodation in a individual room (all included), insurance, organisation of the hosting placement and local support. Board, International travel costs and local transports are not included and the volunteer is directly responsible for them.
